Go

We both know this isn't forever
Just borrowed time
A little stolen love
A crumb of your heart
That I can call mine
I just want to scream
If you're leaving
Go on, just go
But I just hold you tight
And listen to the clock
Ticking down

Key Lime Haiku

Slice of key lime pie
Looked better than it tastes
Reminds me of you

Nine Years

That once comfortable, grown unbearable
The air stale with unspoken hurts
Face pressed to the glass, longing
The window stiff from disuse
Cool nigh air rushes in
Makes the dust swirl
It would be so easy to slip out
And disappear into the darkness
Somethings calling to me
Alive with fear, anticipation
I lean out into the night
Your warm hand on my wrist
Pulling me back
You lay me on the bed
Covering me with kisses
Whispering promises
Turning my head to avoid your mouth
I watch the curtains billowing in the wind.

Forever

When our love was young
We built a monument of stone
And on it we carved our promises to each other
We placed it on a cliff overlooking the sea
A beacon to all those searching
Telling them, true love does exist

The path to the cliff is difficult
Sometimes I lose my way
At the top I stop to catch my breath
Wondering when did we last visit?
I come closer to the stone
The words once so easily read
now worn away by the wind and rain
I run my hand over the pitted surface
looking for a remnant of what was once there
At the bottom my fingers trace out the word

Forever
